Lucy shark profile

Lucy is another classic Guadalupe shark, a favourite of Shark Diving Xperts and is probably the most famous mature female seen here due to her unique and instantly recognizable broken caudal fin.

We see Lucy most years at Guadalupe and often on multiple trips during the course of the season. Like many of the larger females, she typically returns to the Island from around mid October until late November giving many of our guests a high chance of encountering her.

Although she has a broken caudal fin, this does not seem to slow her down. She is always of healthy size when seen again each year and in 2013 she became the first shark at Guadalupe to be documented hunting at speeds of 25mph sub surface. An efficient, well adapted and highly resilient predator.
